What we do

When someone is diagnosed with MND or Kennedy's Disease, their loved ones, extended families, friends, workmates and service providers are all affected. We provide support services at no cost to the person living with MND/Kennedy's Disease and their family. People can choose from a range of services including:

• MND Advisor / Support Coordinator (helps with managing symptoms and finding support, has expert knowledge of MND and local services)
• Equipment Service (equipment loan, repair, pick-up and drop-off)
• Carer / Family Support
• Support Groups (connecting with others)
• Information and Education Sessions
• Counselling
• Volunteer Support Services (including hand and foot massage, social visits / phone calls, support to use iPads, writing your life story)

Most people with MND / Kennedy's Disease receive care at home. MND Victoria helps people to be as independent as possible and to have the best possible quality of life. Where people live in aged care facilities or other support accommodation, our Keeping Connected team continue to provide support.

MND Victoria can arrange an interpreter to come to your home or to talk on the phone. Please tell us about any cultural or religious needs that are important to you.

Money can be donated to the MND Association of Victoria or directly to MND Australia for the specific purpose of funding research, including scientific, care and management research.

At this time, all funds received by MND Victoria for research are given to MND Australia. However, the Association does consider support for other research projects, particularly those which will advance patient care and management.
