Wheelchair Accessible Loan Vehicle

MND Victoria is proud to have a wheelchair accessible vehicle available with no hire cost through our Equipment Service.
This vehicle allows people living with MND and their loved ones to easily attend appointments, go for outings, or enjoy a holiday together.

Maree was one of the first people with MND to use the vehicle so she could have the independence and freedom to do some of the things she used to love doing - going shopping, spending time in nature, and visiting family. The first thing on her list to do, thanks to the help of our accessible vehicle and her family’s support, was to go shopping for some warm clothes for winter and to get some pot plants for her new alfresco area at home.
In particular, Maree was very excited to visit the beach - one of her favourite places, and one she hadn’t been able to see in ages.
Where taxis can be expensive and impersonal, MND Victoria’s accessible van has no loan fees for people impacted by MND. Having free access to the community is pivotal in ensuring people with MND can live better, for longer.
For people like Maree, this vehicle means they have the freedom to go out and be part of the world. This is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters and donors - and with your help, we’d love to have more accessible vehicles available to loan to people with MND in future. Because until there’s a cure, there’s care.
Wheelchair Accessible Loan Vehicle
Hire the wheelchair accessible vehicle through MND Victoria's Equipment Service with no hire cost.
It's provided clean and with a full tank of petrol, and we ask that it’s returned the same way. The vehicle can be booked for as little as one day or up to two weeks, making it a flexible option for appointments, family visits, or short trips away.
The van can hold up to 6 additional people (including the driver).
