Run for MND Victoria at the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival

January 27, 2026

We are thrilled to announce that MND Victoria will once again be a Charity Place Partner at this year's Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival, happening on Sunday 11 October 2026!

In 2025, our incredible group of runners raised over $120,000 for MND Victoria, with all funds raised going towards providing vital care, equipment, and support for people living with MND.

Applications are now open to secure your Charity Place spot in our MND Victoria Superstar Squad.

Simply apply to be a Charity Place Runner and raise $2,000 or more for MND Victoria to guarantee your spot in our VIP team.

What is the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival?

The Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival is Australia's largest annual marathon event, featuring a 42km race that starts at Batman Avenue and finishes inside the iconic MCG.

The 2026 Marathon will take place on Sunday 11th October and will include multiple distances: full marathon, half-marathon, 10km, 5km, and 2.5km walk.

How to Apply to be a Charity Place Runner

Read why some of our past Charity Place Runners chose to run in support of MND Victoria.

Meet Team Malcomson

Ross was pushed by his loved ones, forming Team Malcomson, in a modified wheelchair to complete the Nike Melbourne Marathon together last year.

Team Malcomson hoped to raise $42,000, representing $1000 per kilometre they'll run together — a goal they well and truly surpassed, raising just under $60,000! The Malcomsons gained media attention across the state, and we’re so grateful for their efforts in raising funds and awareness for MND Victoria’s services.

Meet Kyron

Kyron’s pop tragically passed away from MND 6 days before he ran the Nike Melbourne Marathon last year. By taking part, he was able to raise vital funds and awareness to help support Victorians impacted by MND, like his pop.

"It was quite a hard journey for my pop and our family. So I’m incredibly grateful and beyond blessed that I’m able to bring some light into the dark situation that my pop and many other Australians are facing daily."

Meet Emma

In May 2025, Emma’s dad Tom was diagnosed with MND. Despite her dad living in England, Emma found comfort knowing that she could access support through the MND Victoria community.

“My dad has always been a force of nature — positive, cheerful and full of life — and while he’s doing his best to stay optimistic, it’s been tough since his diagnosis.”
