People living with MND, their carers, and gene carriers, are eligible for free registration to the 12th annual Pan-Asian Consortium for Treatment and Research in ALS (PACTALS) Congress and the MND Australia Care Forum.

What is the PACTALS Congress?

The PACTALS Congress brings together scientific experts in MND research from the Asia-Pacific region, along with global leaders in the field.

Over three days, experts in MND research will present lectures, lead workshops, provide demonstrations, and hold informational booths and posters on the latest research and understandings on MND and related topics.

The PACTALS Congress is primarily worthwhile to those with a scientific or clinical background and/or who work in an aligned field, as each programme item will be presented with a technical and scientific audience in mind.

What is the Care Forum?

The Care Forum will showcase the latest developments and best-practice in MND care, and is ideal for health professionals, service providers and others who support people living with MND, including people living with MND and their carers.

The biggest events of the day are presentations from experts on MND, with many presenters working in MND-focused organisations, including MND Victoria. As with the PACTALS Congress, there will also be informational booths and posters on a range of topics related to MND research and MND care.

It’s important to note that programme items may still be scientific and technical in their presentation, but on the whole tend to be more interesting and accessible to people without a scientific and clinical background as people with lived experience are anticipated to be in attendance.

It runs concurrently with the final day of the PACTALS Congress, and both take place at MCEC.
