MND Victoria launches our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
by Kate Johnson
CEO
The MND Victoria Reconciliation Action Plan Working group have worked hard across the last 18 months to develop our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2022 – 2023.
Our RAP demonstrates our goal to deepen our understanding of our sphere of influence and the unique contribution we can make in leading progress across the five dimensions of reconciliation: race relations; equality and equity; institutional integrity; unity; and historical acceptance.
We were privileged to meet with First Nations Artist Katie Budgen and talk with her about our work and the people impacted by motor neurone disease that we support – whether they have been diagnosed with the disease or have a family member or friend who has been diagnosed – or whether they are health professionals and other providing support. Katie developed a unique piece of art to represent the MND Community and MND Victoria's RAP journey. Her artwork represents the strength of those who live with MND and the active steps our organisation is taking towards reconciliation.
