Shane Lewis

Shane Lewis passed away on April 19th 2026 after a courageous battle with Bulbar Onset Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This page now continues in Shanes memory, helping advocate for better support, improved awareness, easier access to services and ongoing hope for better treatments and ultimately a cure for MND. During Shanes journey, our family experienced firsthand the many challenges faced by people living with terminal illness, particularly in regional areas. These experiences inspired us to continue speaking up in the hope future families face a smoother path. We encourage support for MND Victoria, MND Australia, FightMND and state MND organisations, whose services, equipment, research and advocacy make an enormous difference to families affected by MND. Thank you to everyone who supported Shane and our family throughout his journey. Your kindness and generosity helped Shane remain at home right until the very end.
