About the Melbourne Walk to D'Feet MND

It's time to rally the troops, Melbourne! Bring your family, friends and dogs along for an incredible community day out at Princes Park to support people with MND. The Walk is an easy 3.5km flat walk around Princes Park, wheelchair and pram friendly. Disabled parking is available for people with MND.

MND Victoria's Walk to D'Feet MND events take place throughout Victoria and are an easy, fun way to raise awareness. Some people also use this as an opportunity to raise funds for MND Victoria to enable us to deliver the best possible care, support and vital assistive equipment to people currently living with the disease. Because after all, so many of our services are reliant on the generosity of others.

There will be face painting, coffee, a sausage sizzle, lawn games and entertainment! So get your family, friends and colleagues together to walk with you and raise funds to support the Victorians living with MND today!

Please Note: The Walk will take place 100m north of the usual lawn location. Keep an eye out for our banners!

About MND

MND stands for motor neurone disease. Motor neurones are the nerves that control our body movement.

With MND, something goes wrong with the motor neurones, and the messages from the brain stop getting through. This means the muscles that enable us to move around, speak, breathe and swallow fail to work normally.

As the nerve cells slowly stop working, muscles gradually weaken and waste. No two people experience the exact same speed and pattern of weakness, and therefore each person living with MND should be cared for in a way that best suits their needs.

Without a cure and an average life expectancy of just 27 months, MND Victoria has focused on providing the best possible care and support for Victorians living with motor neurone disease (MND) for the last 42 years.
