About the Carer Wellness Relaxation Day

MND Victoria is running Carer Wellness Programs for our carers to give them some tools for looking after themselves while caring for a loved one. The events are also an opportunity to relax and connect with other carers.

This is a free*, fully catered event and is open to all current carers of people registered with MND Victoria. (*Alcoholic drinks at your own expense)

Free overnight accommodation is included in this program if it is possible for you to stay. This also extends to the person for whom you care.

We welcome any current carer to register to attend this program. You can attend no matter where you live. This program has been designed to give you two days of self care and relaxation, but you are most welcome to attend one session if that's all that's possible. The person living with MND is also welcome to attend, some sessions may be for carers only, but we can help make alternative arrangements for that time.

Who is a 'carer'?

You may see yourself as a partner, relative or friend, not a ‘carer’, when supporting someone you love and care for with motor neurone disease (MND). However, as a 'carer', you can access help from care services as care needs increase.

If you need assistance arranging for someone to be with your loved one to enable you to attend the event, speak to your MND Advisor/Support Coordinator.

In line with government guidance, there are no COVID-19 vaccination requirements for attending public events.

MND Victoria would, however, encourage you to consider the risks of attending if you are not vaccinated and encourage all people with MND, their family and carers to get vaccinated in line with government and health advice. We ask you not to attend if you are symptomatic on the day of the program.

For your information, all MND Victoria staff and volunteers are vaccinated.
