Khairul has one of the most infectious smiles you will ever see. And despite his MND diagnosis, Khairul continues to be upbeat and positive, maintaining his joyful laugh and sense of humour.
Khairul was has been living with MND since January 2020. The day he was diagnosed was memorable, to say the least. He had just flown in from Bangladesh with his beautiful wife - Unmay - by his side, when he decided to visit his GP about his right toe that still wasn't getting any better. After a number of scans and an extended stay in the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Khairul was finally told he had MND.
Despite his diagnosis, Khairul continues to be upbeat and positive, maintaining his joyful laugh and sense of humour.
"She [Unmay] has to do two people's work. It's very hard. Looking this handsome takes a lot of effort!"
We were stunned. How are we supposed to feel? I'm 35. It's supposed to be the time of our life. But I guess whatever you get is enough. I can live positively because of the people that I am surrounded by."
